About EFGF

The Erlinda Faderogao Gillespie Foundation (EFGF) was founded to extend a tradition of generosity initiated by Erlinda Faderogao Gillespie and her family, who began financially supporting students in the 2000s.

Originally aiding family members, this support has now expanded to economically disadvantaged students in Romblon Province, aligning with the Philippine Government's education goals and Sustainable Development Goal 4 for inclusive, quality education.

The EFGF provides comprehensive assistance, from high school through college, targeting marginalized groups and fostering lifelong learning. Committed to the "pay it forward" principle, the EFGF seeks to empower communities, promote sustainability, and leave a lasting impact for future generations.

Our History

Erlinda Faderogao Gillespie's journey began in the Philippines, where she was born into humble beginnings. Her life took a transformative turn when she found herself in the heart of the United States, surrounded by boundless opportunities. Grateful for the chances life had offered her, Erlinda felt a deep sense of responsibility for her roots.

Her path to giving back started with her family in the Philippines. Recognizing the transformative power of education, Erlinda began sponsoring the schooling of her nieces, nephews, and the grandchildren of her siblings. Through her unwavering support, they flourished academically and professionally, becoming beacons of success within their communities.

As Erlinda witnessed the profound impact of education on her relatives, her vision expanded. She realized that her mission extended beyond her immediate family to all those in need of educational opportunities. In 2020, fueled by this broader purpose, she began supporting non-relatives, ensuring her impact reached even further. The first non-relative to graduate passed the 2024 teachers licensure examination, a testament to the efficacy of her mission.

What truly sets Erlinda's story apart is her ongoing commitment to supporting education. Collaborating closely with her family, she leads the EFGF, inspiring hope and possibility in countless young minds. Together, they pledge to nurture potential, break barriers, and create a future where everyone, regardless of background, can thrive.

The foundation stands as a living testament to Erlinda's enduring legacy, illuminating paths of possibility for generations to come. Each scholarship granted and every dream realized is a testament to her unwavering dedication and the transformative power of education. Erlinda's story is not just about one person's journey—it's about the ongoing commitment to make a difference, one life at a time.
